Fun in the Sun

Wright Brothers Museum

My parents went to the Wright Brothers' Museum and Memorial - without me. How rude! I think I heard someone say it was the "birthplace" of powered flight.

When my parents told me where they were going, I thought it was going to be a bunch of battery-powered birds flying around - or fuzzy squirrels driving around in little fighter planes. That would have been fun to see, but it wasn't as exciting as all of that. In fact, looking at the pictures my parents brought back, I'm I'm glad I didn't go - I made much better use of my time sleeping!

Beach Bum

Nags Head in Outer Banks lets puppies like me hang out on the beach all day long as long as we stay on a ten-foot leash, so my parents let me come to the beach with them. It was hot, so we didn't stay more than an hour, but I had a super-fun time!

Trying to dig my frisbee out of the sand. Gosh!!! You'd think my dad would help me!!

Swimming is what V's love to do!

Playing ball in the pool is the best!

The Double-V: Vizsla Vacation!

My parents took me on this "vacation" thing that they've been talking about! It's exciting to have my parents all to myself for an entire week! We are staying in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with my aunt Dawn, and uncle Dan. We're staying in a really cool house with lots of stairs and places to run and hide. I'm having so much fun swimming in our pool and running on the beach! Sorry to drop and run, but my uncle Dan promised to play catch with me. I'll post again soon!

Love,
Laila

My parents are up to something

I know my parents were up to something. They kept saying words like "beach" and "ocean" and "vacation." I don't know what those words mean, but I know they can't be good. I did some investigating and . . .

What are you guys doing to the car!?!?!?.

Everybody's Goin' Surfin' - Surfin' USA

On Saturday, July 5th, I visited my human grandparents Jason and Melissa, my mom Kayla, my aunt Hannah, and my brother Seamus. As always, I had a fantastic time at Melissa and Jason's house! I played with Seamus, stole Hannah's chewie, learned how to swim, stole Melissa's ice cube, learned how to surf, ate some yummy food, took a nap in a towel, ran around the yard, played tug-of-war with a stuffed donkey, went to the park, played chuck-it frisbee, ate mulberrys, went swimming in the cannal, stopped by Rita's to get ice cream and gellati's (I finished my ice cream before we left the Rita's parking lot), and fell asleep on my dad's lap.

Here are some pictures of my visit:

Ummm . . . Hello!?! Is anyone going to help me get into the pool?
.

Get ready . . . get set . . . Jump!

Hold me, Jason - I don't know how to swim.

Okay, one - two - three . . .

. . . and I'm off! I'm swimming! I'm actually swimming! This is fun!
.
.
.
.
Jason promised that he would teach me how to surf like my brother Seamus. He told Hannah and I that we had to sit still and wait for a wave. I waited and then - "Hannah, Hannah – I think I see one!"

Hannah said that she didn't see a wave. Then she said "Laila, look - are those fish?" I didn't see any fish, but Hannah dove off the raft.

I stayed on the surfboard to see if I could surf. And I almost did . . .
. . . until I wiped out.

My dad told me to try again, so I got on the surfboard from the side of the pool this time. . .

Ok. I'll admit that I was a little shaky, but . . . I stayed up!

I still can't believe that I actually surfed!!!!!

This was the BEST DAY EVER!

The petitions stole my Mom

My mom has been working on "grading petitions" for the last three weeks, so my dad and I have been spending a lot of quality time together. We play catch, go to the park, and wrestle in the living room (shh... don't tell my mom, but he's training me to join the WWF!). Playing with my dad comes at a cost, though. He's exhausted!

My dad and I take lots of naps on the couch, and I figured out that my dad makes a great couch cushion. Sometimes he wiggles and makes funny breathing sounds, but he's still super fun to cuddle with.

Mom, when will you be done with your "petitions"? I miss your cuddles!

Updates on my Shows

No new points to report, but on Saturday, June 28, 2008: My human grandmom Melissa and I won Best in Sweepstakes!
